Melissa: Many schools seem to be either boot-camps or experiments in anarchy - balance is lacking.
Tim: Well, some students actually need rigid instructors: they lack the internal discipline to study
and seem to perform best when a strong external authority is present. Others have no need of external strictures – they have self-discipline and clear goals.
Melissa: Maybe so, but authority must be used with restraint – otherwise it becomes tyranny.
