Emerson Horne (1910 - 1962)
Dad was a chemist at Calco Corp. Later he designed miniature motors at Bendix Aviation and
then Eastern Air Devices. Born in New York City, he lived in
New England most of his life and he passed away when I was seven.
Jean Price Norman (1917 - 2000)
After studying at the Moore College of Art, mom did illustrations for New Hampshire
Profiles, The Friends' Journal and other magazines.
After her first hubby died, she moved to Pennsylvania, Arizona,
then Mexico, and eventually retired in Maui. Shortly after
she passed away I created a webpage with many of her art works.
Will Norman (1904 - 1984)
My step-dad taught art at a correspondence school in Minnesota and moved to
San Miguel de Allende
in Guanjuanto, Mexico in 1970. He met my mother there while studying painting
at the Institute Allende and Bellas Artes. They married in 1975 and he passed away in 1980.
Most of Will's art was in a fauvist style. He worked mainly with oil colors.
Robert Horne (1940 - 2010)
My oldest brother lived in New England all his life. He married Elaine Meritt in 1977 and
has been out of work for some time. Bob was particularly fond of J.S. Bach and he followed the teachings of
Sant Ajaib Singh. I often wear his ring.
Betsy Youngren (1941 - )
My sister taught math at several high schools near St. Louis. She graduated from
the University of New Hampshire in 1962 and served in the Peace Corps from
1963 - 1967, working in the southern Philippines. In 1967 she married Donald Youngren, who passed away in 1995. Her two children, Julie and Dan, live near her
in Missouri.
Charles Horne (1943 - )
My older brother was a software engineer for People Soft (later acquired by Oracle).
After earning a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Pennsylvania
in 1972, he worked at Lawrence Berkeley Labs and finally moved into software design. In 1966 he married Marica Brackett and
lives near San Francisco Bay area. His son Nathan
also works at Oracle.
Christopher Horne (1957 - )
My younger brother studied computer science at the University of Arizona
and worked for SUN Microsystems, which later became part of Oracle. In 1984 he married
Stephanie Brackett and now lives in Boulder, Colorado.
They have four daughters.
Judy Norman ( ? - )
My step-sister was born in Minnesota and studied fine art at the University
of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In 1970 she met Swami Muktananda and became active
in Siddha Yoga. Today I believe she lives in Maui, Hawaii with her husband, Keshav.
Takayo Kamiya Newfields (1959 - )
My wife was born and raised in Shizuoka, a mid-size city in central Japan.
From 1979 to 1991 she worked for Dai Nihon Toryo,
a large paint maker. She is interested in cooking, interior decorating, and fashions. To my chagrin, she is also fascinated by murder mysteries.
