Literary Degrees

To some degree every text you read is a mirror
reflecting the state of your mind

In another sense each text is opaque
merely hinting at each author's design

To some degree readers are vacuum cleaners
scooping up semantic debris

In another sense they're planeters
dispersing precious word-seeds

Literature is can be viewed so many ways:

but instead of reading about it
why not open a text & gobble it up?

Why worry about 'meaning'
when you feel delight?

Jack: Hey, what's this old dork saying? Can you make sense of this?
Juanita: Some sort of post-modernist wank I reckon – does one need a degree to understand this?
Shu: A degree of tolerance & patience: that's all.
