Bruce:
People as pigeons? The whole idea seems bird-brained!
Devani:
Well, in lots of ways humans are.
Carlos:
Whenever we become slaves to routine or conditioning, we become bird-brains.
Pidgin Poem
If we regarded people as pigeons
our vision would achieve new heights.
Pigeons are eminent pragmatists
who bicker if the stakes are low
but when there's genuine danger
soon take flight.
These birds have a clear pecking order
and skillfully gauge strength and size.
So next time you ruffle your feathers
or feel stuck in a cage
remember our feathered kin
Adapting to fate's whims
surviving even when the pickings are slim
