CYBER DEMOCRACY: Some thoughts about digital freedom How many layers of encryption are needed to protect you from the truth? The government knows every move you've been making. Every telephone call & keystroke is recorded, so what can anyone do? Big Brother is watching & freedom exists only within constraints. Citizen-serfs must do as overlords decree. Since those on top lust for control there’s little ordinary folks see or hear that hasn’t already been pre-packaged & pre-sold. Gus: I can't agree with this poem: the tone is too dark. Bill: Then you are a perfect citizen! Ideal citizens should believe they are free even when much evidence points to the contrary. Gus: I don't feel 'ideal'. I just don't believe governments are all-powerful. ===================================================================================== from _Cyberpoems: Exploring the Human-Machine Interface_ by T Newfields SUMMARY: An image of an all-seeing eye and some words about privacy.
