Microcosm

Paramecium move through swirling immensities
while amoebas engulf diamond-shaped beings
Hydras drift in fluids they can't see
while ciliates whip like frenzied spermoza
& algae suck up solar energy

The stuff of science fiction
or tales from a planet far away?

No – just small parts of a miracle
much nearer:
the sea moves in us even this day.
