Terri:	The tradition of convention-bashing is itself a sort of convention.
Sam:	Yeah – suggesting we have no conventions is akin to suggesting we have no history.
Ted:	Demagogues have been attempting to do away with conventions for ages. Generally, this simply allows new leaders to introduce their own conventions. Just as a complex organism cannot function without a brain, it seems societies cannot function without conventions.
Tim:	True, but conventions often have a stifling influence. Wouldn't we be better off with fewer encumbrances?
